There’s a reason many businesses delay implementing new components with an existing business solution.

New components may be used to replace older versions or to add functionality to payment solutions. Regardless of the reasons for integrating new components, there are certain issues common in the merchant services industry that can arise, regardless of whether the component is developed internally or externally. Using an external software vendor, however, can entail communication issues and misunderstandings that can lead to additional problems that may only be revealed during implementation. In any case, logistical issues, including those involving implementation of new payment systems, PCI compliance, and certification should all be addressed early in the development process. The earlier these issues are addressed, the easier the implementation stage will be.
